Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 14, 2026
The Architect is built on a simple principle: your private thoughts should stay private. Your journal entries are encrypted on your device before they ever leave it. We cannot read them. This policy explains exactly what we collect, what we don’t, and why.

What we collect

What we do NOT collect

Encryption

All journal entries and mentor responses are encrypted on your device using AES-256 before being transmitted to our servers. The encryption key is derived from your account credentials. We store only encrypted data — we cannot decrypt it, and there is no admin view of your content.

You control a recovery key that allows you to access your encrypted history from other devices. If you lose your recovery key and your session expires, your encrypted history cannot be recovered — by design.

AI processing

When you submit a journal entry, the plaintext is sent to Anthropic’s Claude API to generate your mentor response. This processing is transient — Anthropic does not store or train on your data per their data processing agreement. The plaintext is never logged, cached, or stored on our servers in readable form.

If you attach photos, they are stored in a private Supabase Storage bucket and accessed only via time-limited signed URLs. Photos are sent to Claude for visual context during response generation, then the signed URLs expire.

Data retention

Your encrypted journal entries are retained as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data (entries, profile, usage logs) is permanently deleted from our systems. There is no soft-delete or recovery period after account deletion.
